The live room in the performance area of Old House provides a comfortable space, ideal for adding a bit of natural ambience to the sound of the source. An oak floor, acoustic diffusers, non-parallel walls, and wood trim help "scatter" the sound, while corner traps provide low frequency absorption. Moveable Auralex panels are available to further dampen the sound of the room, if necessary. The live room was designed with excellent lines of sight between it and the additional isolation areas and
control room. Overhead lights can be dimmed, if desired. The live room was constructed on a separate floating surface from the control room, isolation areas, and lounge, reducing transmission of low frequency sounds that would otherwise pass through the floor.
