The control room at Old House provides a relatively even listening enviroment between the client couch and the console mix position. While the control room exhibits reduced reflected energy at both positions, the room is not so absorbent as to seem acousticaly "dead." The control room is approximately 15 feet wide and 18 feet deep, with plenty of room for a band or other compliment of interesting people to relax and listen to music. There are a variety of monitors available for comparative listening and a large, comfortable couch at the back of the room. Overhead and wall-mounted control room lights are on several different switches, providing a variety of lighting options independent of the fascinating lights on the equipment itself. The control room was constructed on a separate floating surface from the performance area and lounge, reducing transmission of low frequency sounds that would otherwise pass through the floor. A specific list of control room equipment is available here.
